Plastic bending is an additional service that D.H. Lamina can assure to all customers. With plastic bending we mean a thermoforming process, where plastic plates are heated up to their forming temperature and shaped according drawing requirements.
Thermoforming involves critical issues, such as spring back, a typical problem of polymers; it is only thanks to a long-time experience and deep knowledge that this point can be easily overtaken by our staff.
Plastic bending process is managed as an outsource operation, anyway controlled and audited under the authority of our quality department. Available machinery fleet is composed of:
Sheet thermoformer. Ideal machine for the thermoforming of plastic materials using a mould and vacuum. Available range of dimensions goes up to 1500 x 1300 thickness 8 mm.
Reel thermoformer. Especially designed for packaging. The range of dimensions goes up to 650 x 550 thickness 2 mm.
Bending machine. After having heated the material, thanks to the bending machine, we proceed to thermoform the required item. Dimensions depend on the geometry and the kind of material that must be bended. In general a maximum thickness of 15 mm can be achieved.
