PA66+MOS2 (Extruded Polyamide 66 filled Molybdenum Disulphide)

Extruded Polyamide 66 filled Molybdenum Disulphide, better known as PA66+MOS2, is an extruded polyamide, which offers the same main characteristics of PA66. It offers a high resistance to abrasion, impact, damping and a good combination of mechanical stability. In addition to that, molybdenum disulphide improves sliding properties and higher compression strengths.

Details.

This materials reduces lubrifications requirements thanks to its sliding properties and wear resistance even when running dry. The addition of molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) to PA66 results in an increase of rigidity, hardness and dimensional stability due to its nucleating effect.

Conversely, the material’s impact strength is reduced as a result.

Due to its black colour, this universal grade PA 66 is well suited for outdoor use and offers improved UV resistance.

Chemical resistance.

About its chemical resistance, PA66+MOS2 is equal to what previously indicated in PA66 technical page.

PA66+MOS2 most famous brand name.

Extruded Polyamide 66 filled with Molybdenum Disuphide, usually available in rods, tubes and plates, is produced by different Companies, each one with its own commercial name. Although that, each PA66+MOS2 has more less the same characteristics and can easily substitute one each other.

Most famous brand names are:

  • Zellamid® 250 MO;
  • Tecamid® 66 MO;
  • Sustamid® 66 MO.
